Will you take over a system you did not build?
Yes, that is a typical situation. We take over the code and servers and start by describing what we found before we change anything.
The previous contractor is not responding. Where do we start?
By collecting access to the server, domain, repository, and backups. If something is missing, we help recover it, and only then do we clean up deployments.
How do we know backups work?
We store backups on a separate server and regularly check that the system can be restored from them. Having backup files alone guarantees nothing.
Our application runs on an old PHP version. Can that be fixed?
Usually, yes. We first add tests and automated deployments so every change can be verified, then move the application to a supported version in small steps.
